To set up a new domain name for your PKC, one needs to set up the Domain Name Service(DNS) in a DNS provider's website.

One can find some commercial entities[1] to offer these registration services.

Using Google Domains

For example, if you use Google Domains, this would be the steps to follow:

  1. Search for an adequate domain using the text field.
  2. Once identified a domain name of interest, please finish the purchasing procedure, to obtain the ability to assign DNS address.
  3. Go to the management console of your data center, for example, Amazon Web Service, then, create an instance of a networked computer. For AWS, the terminology is called Elastic Computing Device (EC2). Current version of PKC has been tested on Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS, so we recommend you to use this AMI (Amazon Machine Image).
  4. Identify the computer's public IP address. If you are using Google Domain Name Service, you can just take this public IP address and put it into the Custom Resource Record's IPv4 address, and press the Add button.
