Abstract Specification
Context When using a device that uses ‘geolocation data,’ Children’s privacy rights are continually violated because their location can be found at all times, leading to increased abductions, physical/mental abuse, sexual abuse, and trafficking. Their agency is also lessened as they do not have the choice of sharing their location, it’s done automatically.


Goal
  • Protect children from inapropriate data
  • Protect children from giving out inapropraite data
  • Encourage and emphasize the chance of receiving good data
Success Criteria
  • Children is does not receiving inapropriate data
Concrete Implementation

When using a device that uses 'geolocation data,' Children's privacy rights are continually violated because their location can be found at all times, leading to increased abductions, physical/mental abuse, sexual abuse, and trafficking. Their agency is alse lessened as they do not have the choice of sharing their location, it's done automatically.
  • Geolocation services must be "off" by default
  • Child must know that their location is being tracked
  • Revert settings so that Child's location is turned "off" after each voluntary use of geolocation data
  • Trustworthy log, operational data, and statistical data to prove that the system and user (children) does not receiving nor giving inapropriate data or information

  • Compliance with local standar definition of under-age
  • Compliance with all existing regulation
