Matej, ed. (Jul 2, 2022). LaMDA AI SENTIENT? - Is Google WRONG?. local page: AI Matej.
Blake Lemoine, a google senior engineer thinks that LaMDA, a google language artificial intelligence model is sentient. Lamda means Language model for dialogue applications. Is Lamda sentient, concious, self aware? Lamda is based on transformer architecture, just like other language models such as GPT3. Lamda gives a very strong impression of being a person because it was trained on a very large data set. I give several examples of conversations that gave Blake Lemoine the impression the Lamda is sentient. I hypothesize that Blake Lemoine actually does not think that Lamda is sentient, but he is using the media frenzy to bring attention to the threat of AI colonialism.
