There are many plug-ins or extensions that might stop [https://matomo.org Matomo's] tracking features to stop working. There are many plug-ins or extensions that might stop Matomo's tracking features to stop working. One of the extensions on Chrome called: ublock, has been the reason, just removing it from the Chrome browser would enable Matomo to track page visits.
