Governance(Q1553864) is about controlling resources(spacetime and mass), it is also an act to claim sovereignty over an entity or region of space/territory[1]. Influenced by Moore's Law[2], the technologies relating to Identity and Access Management(IAM)[3] is a crucial aspect of governance. A book on this subject is Meyerson's work called:Political Numeracy[4]. A history book that reveals the nature of governance can be found here[5].

Systems Engineering in concrete terms

Governance can be thought of as a project management job that must maintain balance of powers and the healthiness of resource utilization. This balancing of powers can be related to safety, and the healthiness of resource utilization can be related to liveness. A system under governance can be tested against safety and liveness properties as defined in the book[6].

DevOps as a Source of Inspiration

A significant amount of governance work has been demonstrated in the world of DevOps. One important example is Ansible's roles.
