Symmetry-breaking
Symmetry-breaking has to do with erasing information, or making decisions in a classical computing environment(entropy increase). The Maxwell's demon (MxD) can be considered as a symmetry-breaking device. To learn more about MxD, please try to read the book:Theory of Heat[1] by James Maxwell.
MxD as a Universal Component
MxD as a universal component adheres to the principle of composition, to be followed in the design and implementation of PKC. MxD is a function with two chambers, each of them can be composed of other MxDs. This also matches the pattern of how Boolean functions can be composed of a function with two input arguments, where each argument is a space holder for other functions.
