Mathematica
Mathematica is a functional programming system that inspired many products that shaped the world of computation as we know it today, including the design and implementation of the World Wide Web, and Web Browsers as we know them.
Evolution of the Product
As the infrastructure of the World Wide Web became robust and mature, many replacement products of Mathematica and Mathematica Notebook started to appear. The most notable one being Jupyter, which was part of IPython before. Overtime, the founder of this research product, Stephen Wolfram tried to rebrand the product Mathematica as Wolfram Language and Computable Document Format.
