A cognitive foundation is the grounding infrastructure for making judgments by available information and perceptive concepts. Cognitive foundations can be shaky if the judgemental framework is flawed, the information supplied is not sufficient, or the percepts are ill-formed. A cognitive foundation can approach better soundness if it grounds itself to the physical limitation of computation, information transfer, and perceptual devices.
