Data anonymization is a way to protect data privacy by removing personal information from dataset so the people in the dataset could remain anonymous.

Data anonymization enable organization to transfer information and reducing the risk to be disclosed as there are some environments that need anonymization such as medical field. In medical field, the dataset should not have the information about patient personal data such as name and address.

De-anonymization

There are a way to reverse the process of anonymization by pairing the anonymized data with other related data to re-identify the dataset
