Information is Orthogonal to Physical Reality

In the beginning of the video, Al-Khalili articulated the fact that language, especially phonetically-spelled written language, used the sound of pictures to represent concepts, therefore, creating an orthogonal approach to decouple the representation of information away from the physical manifestation of information carrier. This decoupled treatment as a protocol to information representation, allowed for the freedom to choose arbitrary physical manifestation of the information to be presented, therefore, making data and information, to be represetable in arbitrary physical medium, making data representation physically scale-free.

Weaving Machine as the first computer

Jacquard machine(Q2488528) is a device fitted to a power loom that simplifies the process of manufacturing patterned textiles.

A short talk on this

Information as a measure of unlikeliness

Information is being measured in terms of the measure of unlikeliness of event occurrence.

Information Erasure and irreversibility

Information Erasure is a process to remove information which must be conducted under the expense of certain amount of energy, which is an irreversible process.

Information with Physical Implications (Landauer's principle)

Information must be encoded into some physical entities, and based on Moore's Law, it has certain physical sizes. It can also be computed using the principle of Landau Limit.
